I am a Trane AC user and providing this reviews with my 1 year experience with 5 star 1 Ton split AC unit ,( of course after all the care taking required on the user end ) for the public so that they can better decide what to do if they are considering to buy an AC for them.

THERE IS "NO SMARTNESS" IN SO CLAIMED.. 

SMART AC of "TRANE" brand.

1. Remote Misbehaves and consumes lot of batteries (almost each pair of cells every month)... Moreover it is very bulky and absolutely not ergonomic as it hardly fits in palm always with the risk of getting slipped from hand. And if you break it It is a costly purchase again!

2. The Outdoor Temperature reading shown on the remote is just an eyewash...

because it's sensor is located deep inside the outdoor unit and it shows the correct reading just for first 1 minute.. and afterwards the heat builds up in the unit and thus the reading rises...and we (the user) sees (on remote) that there is very hot outside weather and AC is very efficient. :( ... Poor befooled customers !

* This itself confuses the automatic Trane mode to what to do.. which forces the trane mode to create discomfort! So There is No meaning of Energy saving by Trane Mode !

3. There is No ON/OFF timer in this AC (which is actually a very common feature in almost every brand AC and is thus expected by granted.). So Now when you get discomfort with its Automatic feature called : Trane Mode.. you have to get disturbed during sleep and wake up again & again to change the temperatures !! :( :(       

& on the contrary the company claims that they have designed smart ACs to make you Lazy :)

4. This AC System is somewhat delicate or has a basic quality deficiency as this unit itself catches faults either one or the other after some time of usage!!

e.g. Misbehaving while ON or OFF switching:-

5. Don't be surprised to see that your AC is still on and cooling, compressor running even you have switched it off with Remote. I found this a month ago when I switched it off in morning and went for some work and after 4 hours when I came back I found that this AC was still running and consuming full energy EVEN IN OFF MODE.   So Smart isn't it ??

And Now lets talk about The After Sales service and Customer handling by the Trane Staff..

Obviously When My AC started catching cold... I reported the same to the concerned persons of the company.

And Then Another set of worries began pouring over me when I found that The staff is not well trained to execute the repairs and also not humble enough to listen / feel the mental agony of the unsatisfied customers of this premium brand.

The company sent the technicians/ executives for Inspection and found there was a broken portion of the blower which Could be the reason behind my observation that my AC sends some odd abrupt gush of wind sound during normal operation... like the rotating blower is getting "some extra spinning jerks" besides normal constant torque from the motor.  

After few weeks.. one of  the company person came somewhere from Delhi NCR branch to replace the blower and brought the new blower unit along.

After dismantling all the parts of the Indoor unit He told us that the part he brought along with him is wrong and it is actually for the 1.5 Ton unit and NOT FOR OUR 1 TON UNIT !!!! :(

It was now many hours had been lost in transit and dismantling when we were in the middle of No where of the solution. He had to request the local dealer to arrange the part from somewhere.

After quite struggle the person came with a correct sized blower and got the unit fitted back.

So The one issue was addressed in the end and it was the beginning of another issue. (Might be due to the technical incompetence during repairs)

Our Unit started misbehaving and Not reaching the set temperature even of 27 degrees Celsius and Not cutting off the compressor which resulted in continuous running of the compressor and consuming lot more energy that Intended.
